Stephenie Meyer to Discuss New Moon on Oprah!

It has been a while since we have heard anything from Stephenie Meyer. We have learned that she is making an appearance on the Oprah show on Friday, November 13th to talk about the New Moon Movie. She posted about her upcoming appearance on her official website. I can not wait to see Stephenie Meyer on Oprah. I have already set my DVR to record this episode to make sure that I don't miss it. Hi everybody!

I wanted to apprise you all of a few upcoming things.

You know I’ve been doing the hermit thing this last year, in so far as media is concerned, and I’m not changing that now, but I am making an exception. I’m doing this for a good reason: I am so pleased and amazed and thrilled with what Chris Weitz has done with New Moon that I want to talk about it, and to show my support for him. And since I’m only doing one interview, better make it big. Really big. So….I will be on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Friday, November 13th. Check the local listings on Oprah’s website to find out what time it will be on where you live.

Of course, most of the questions for Oprah will be designed for a broader audience than just die-hard Twilight fans, and I imagine people who read this site and other fansites will already know most of the answers. To rectify this, I’m going to answer your more specific questions on-line. The official Twilight Saga website (www.TheTwilightSaga.com) will be taking any New Moon movie-related questions you might have for me, and then I’ll answer those most frequently asked. I’ll post the answers on the Twilight Saga website and also here on my own site. Questions can be submitted to TheTwilightSaga.com from noon (Eastern Standard Time) on Monday, November 9th through noon Tuesday, November 10th. The answers will be posted Monday, November 16th—or New Moon Premiere Day, as it is known around my house.

I’m so very excited that you’ll all get to see New Moon in just two weeks! Then you’ll see what I’m going on about. Until then, think up some good questions for me.

Twilight: The Graphic Novel

Twilight is being turned into a graphic novel! Entertainment Weekly just announced the details in this article:

For those of you who can’t get enough Edward and Bella, EW can announce — exclusively — that Yen Press will be publishing Twilight in graphic-novel form, publication date still to be determined. Though Korean artist Young Kim is creating the art, Meyer herself is deeply immersed in the project, reviewing every panel.

Take a close look at the biology-class sketch we’ve obtained (that’s an empty dialogue bubble between their heads, if you’re wondering). What’s interesting to me is that it doesn’t look simply like an artist’s rendering of Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson. In fact, the characters seem to be an amalgam of Meyer’s literary imagination and the actors’ actual looks. The description of Edward from biology class: “His dazzling face was friendly; open, a slight smile on his flawless lips. But his eyes were cautious.” And Bella: “I was ivory-skinned …. I had always been slender, but soft somehow, obviously not an athlete…” To me, this graphic-novel Bella seems much closer to me to Meyer’s book than to Stewart’s sultry portrayal. The Edward shown is closer to Pattinson, but not a real duplicate; there’s something very winning in the sketch that I don’t see in Pattinson’s all-too-perfect tousled bronze locks and piercing eyes.

Billy Burke Addresses Kristen Stewart Pregnancy Rumors

One of the most outrageous Twilight rumors circulating the Internet is the one about Kristen Stewart being pregnant with Robert Pattinson's love child. In an interview with E! Online, Billy Burke wants to clear his onscreen daughter's name.

E: So Kristen was reportedly pregnant, which we cleared up and showed to be totally false.

BB: Rob is probably pregnant with my child. It's funny no one picked up on me and Rob's affair.

E: Do you wish you were more involved in rumors like your younger costars?

BB: I don't feel left out at all. They can keep me out of those rumors as much as they want.

E: How do you think Rob's handling all this attention? He seems stressed out on the set of his new movie, Remember Me... Think R.Pattz would ever get totally fed up with it and quit acting altogether?

BB: You mean pulling a Joaquin Phoenix? I doubt he would go that route. He's got a lot of talent. He's got his art, as opposed to being bogged down by all this bulls--t. I think he's handling it well. I feel a little bit for [Rob and Kristen]. I think [the attention] was unexpected by both of them.

E: Do you sometimes feel like a spokesperson for Rob, Kristen and the other castmembers' personal lives?

BB: Some people do ask, but they know the answer they're gonna get: I don't know anything.

E: OK then, how will the next few Twilight films be different?

BB: Haven't seen a script yet, have no idea what's going on. Nobody's seen a script yet.

E: Twi fans want more sex and violence with their beloved vamps. Blame True Blood. Think any of the upcoming movies will ever be R-rated?

BB: I doubt it. I doubt they'll go that far. Stephanie [Meyer]'s books are what they are, and to go beyond that is gonna be a misconception of what the actual text is.

E: We know Robsten & Co. are hotter than the Harry Potter kids, but will the boy wizard beat out New Moon at the box office?

BB: We took their release spot the last couple years, and we're taking their summer release spot next year. I don't get into competition. I just want the movies to be good.

E: What if there's a Harry Potter/Twilight crossover? How much would that make?

BB: What do you mean, that they meet? Harry battles Edward? I doubt it. That would be a complete bastardization of what's going on!

More Mike Newton in New Moon

According to Mike Welch, who plays one of Bella's human friends in Twilight, he will get more on-screen time in the highly-anticipated sequel New Moon. He gives the credit to Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart.

“Kristen [Stewart] and Taylor [Lautner] had to lobby to get this one scene in the film that wasn’t originally in — and I am forever indebted to them for that,” revealed Mike Welch, citing a beloved moment from Stephenie Meyer’s “New Moon” novel. “There’s a scene that’s in the book, the three-way date between Jacob and Bella and Mike, where Mike ends up getting sick, and it’s just very awkward.”

Twilight Takes Top Honors at MTV Movie Awards

The 2009 MTV Movie Awards sends Twilight cast home with tons of awards! The first award that went to Twilight was the Best Fight Scene award which was won by Cam Gigandet (James) and Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen). The awards just kept coming after that. Robert Pattinson won Male Breakthrough Performance and he made some kind of joke about more room in his pants. I have watched the scene over and over but I still don't

know what he was referring to.
MTV shot the cameras in Kristen's direction after Rob made the joke and she covered her face and looked very embarrassed. (Maybe it was an inside joke?) Next Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart won Best Kiss award. It appeared like they were going to redo the scene right there on the stage, but then to my disappointment Kristen turned her head right before they kissed. Those two are so cute together and they obviously have great chemistry. I wish they would just go ahead and hook up. Female Breakthrough Performance went to Kristen Stewart. She was very awkward while accepting the award. I don't know if she was nervous or maybe she just felt bad for all the other people that weren't getting any awards. When she finished her acceptance speech and went to grab the award to leave the stage, she actually dropped the award and it hit the stage with a loud thug. MTV cameras went to Rob in the audience when she dropped the award and he was smiling at her as if it were only him and her in the room. You can tell that he totally adores her. And is if that wasn't enough awards, Twilight took the award for Best Movie of the Year. Catherine Hardwicke was in attendance and she accepted the award along with the rest of the Twilight cast. Many thanks were given to Stephenie Meyer throughout the night. I bet that she never thought that her dream that started the Twilight series would evolve into this.

While in Cannes, Robert Pattinson told The Hollywood Reporter that Breaking Dawn, the fourth book in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, will definitely be made into a movie. This is HUGE news for Twilight fans who just can't get enough of Bella and Edward!
